The Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of the Port of Luanda, Alberto Bengue, was distinguished by the government of the Kingdom of Belgium, in recognition of his contribution to the development of the port sector.
On behalf of King Philippe of the Belgians the accolade was awarded to Alberto Bengue by the belgian Minister of Foreign Affairs Hadja Lahbib, in a ceremony that took place at the residence of the Belgian ambassador in Luanda, Jozef Smets, on February 1.
“This award is not mine, but the collective of workers. It is an honor to know that our effort, which aims to make the Port of Luanda the main maritime gateway to the southern region of Africa, is being recognized”, he pointed out.
In addition to the PCA of the Port of Luanda, other Angolan personalities were also distinguished, in an act witnessed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, leaders of political parties, musicians, journalists, freight forwarders and dispatchers.
