On the 7th of February, training began on basic notions on safety and the environment, for the concessionary terminals of the Port of Luanda, in partnership with the Associação Empresarial de Sines.
Hugo Ferreira, president of the Association of the Port of Sines, which is the training entity, said that the training aims to provide the concessionaires of the Port of Luanda with basic knowledge about safety and the environment in the face of dangerous situations, in order to prevent and act in the face of situations hazards that may arise.
“This training is for everyone involved in the port chain. It is for this reason that, after the Port Administration staff completed the training, we are now opening the 2nd Training Cycle on Basic Notions of Safety and Environment for concessionaires”, he pointed out.
Training is a step towards complying with and achieving international obligations and standards in terms of port certification in safety and the environment.
“The advantages of this course include the reduction of accidents at work, international certification, internal organization, compliance with legal requirements, increased productivity, reduction of lost time, improvement of the company's image, among others”, he underlined.
The 1st Training Cycle on Basic Notions of Safety and the Environment opened on the 7th of November, having trained more than 400 employees of the Port Administration, within the scope of the protocol signed between the Port of Luanda and the Associação Empresarial de Sines.
