The Minister of Transport, Ricardo D’Abreu, made a working visit on the 4th of January to verify the degree of execution of the work on the North Cabotage Terminal of the Port of Luanda.
Accompanied by the Secretary of State for the Civil Aviation, Maritime and Port Sectors, Emílio Londa, Minister Ricardo D’Abreu received detailed information from the Port of Luanda Administration on the North Cabotage Terminal, namely the degree of technical execution and forecast completion of works.
The construction of the cabotage pier and the jetty will make it possible to connect the provinces of Luanda, Zaire and Cabinda by sea, thus promoting the transport of people and goods between these regions.
The Minister of Transport also visited the Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) Operations Center of the Port of Luanda, recently installed, which has provided greater control and security to the entire area of port jurisdiction.
At the Maritime Passenger Terminal (TMP) at the Port of Luanda, Ricardo D’Abreu found out about the functioning of the X-ray equipment, the project to explore part of the car park in the Bay of Luanda, as well as the process of departures and arrivals of passengers and goods.
In addition to a boarding and disembarking lounge for passengers and goods, the TMP has a restaurant, check-in services, a horizontal conveyor to forward luggage to the containerization area, a conveyor in line to avoid the transit of luggage and a collection area of the luggage.
