The Port of Luanda recently donated several tons of various products to the Center for Rehabilitation and Reinsertion of Drug Addicts (CRRT), in Capari, Bengo province, and to the Solidarity Association of Children and Adolescents (ASCA), in Maianga, Luanda, which houses several needy people, mostly street boys and girls.

The donations include rice, rice flour, corn meal, sugar, vegetable oil, pasta, fish, biscuits, juice, water, among other products, and were given to those responsible for those institutions by the deputy general coordinator of the Sustainability Government of Port of Luanda, Domingos Canguenze, in the presence of other company staff.

This humanitarian gesture is part of the Port of Luanda’s corporate social responsibility actions and constitutes its response to the appeal of the United Nations Global Compact, which urges companies to join the worldwide effort to fight covid-19, through actions of solidarity that help mitigate the impact of this pandemic on vulnerable communities.

Also within the framework of its corporate social responsibility actions, the Port of Luanda donated a set of school material to primary school 1221 (formerly Textang II), in Boavista.
